Never Call it Quits

This is me in Bel Air, sometime around the moment I began working with an LA producer on my music. This came after being in California for several years after studying Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music. I wanted to improve my music so I took any feedback I got from top studios graciously and seriously, even if it hurt my feelings, which, to be honest, it really did. Everyone thought I sang great but my songs weren't.

The biggest lesson to learn (and what I want people to takeaway) was that just because something isn't great now, doesn't mean it can't be later. We (and our minds) are the only ones limiting our growth. If great athletes and musicians stopped at the mediocre, believing that that was all they could reach and there was no such thing as getting better, they would never become superstars. See feedback (or rejection) as fuel in your tank, because there's nothing worse than plateauing at your craft or in life. Ego is not your friend, it will crush you at your best moments, so in performance learn how to not care and let it go. Success is a balance of love for other people and your own mental fitness. Embody gratitude, respect and professionalism and the sky is your limit.

Believe in yourself. Keep going. Keep believing.
